What is click through rate?

CTR (Click-Through Rate) is a metric that shows how many people clicked on your ad, email, or link after seeing it.

In simple words, CTR helps you understand whether your advertisement is attracting users or not.

CTR Formula

CTR=ClicksImpressions×100CTR = \frac{Clicks}{Impressions} \times 100CTR=ImpressionsClicks×100

Example

Suppose:

  • Your ad was shown 1,000 times (Impressions)
  • Users clicked your ad 50 times

CTR = (50 ÷ 1,000) × 100

CTR = 5%

This means 5% of people who saw your ad clicked on it.

Why is CTR Important?

A high CTR usually means:

  • Your ad is relevant.
  • Your headline grabs attention.
  • Your keywords match user intent.
  • Your audience targeting is effective.
